Original purple cloth lettered in gilt with small blindstamped publisher's device on upper cover (lightly stained, upper inner hinges broken). Second impression of "The Keystone Library" edition. PRESENTATION COPY, the front free endpaper inscribed, "For Philip Julian Griffiths from Winston S. Churchill on his birthday, Nov. 22 1940." Philip Griffiths was the son of George Griffiths (1880-1945), Labour MP for Hemsworth. cf. Woods A37.
