Consistency is a bore', and exchanging other news, 3 pages, 4to, integral address panel.

Marryat had abandoned his naval career (which included bringing back from St Helena the dispatches announcing Napoleon's death) in November 1830, and from then on devoted himself to writing: his best known work, the semi-autobiographical Mr Midshipman Easy, was published in 1836.
