MARK OF CARLO BALBINO, TURIN, 1852
Each shaped circular and with a shell and foliage heightened gadrooned border, applied with the arms of Savoia accolé with another and below a crown, marked on the back, each further stamped 'Balbino A'Turin' and engraved with the date '1852', with a scratchweight and a number 'NO. 40 GRAMA 705'; 'NO. 41 GRAMA 725'; 'NO. 42 GRAMA 647'; 'NO. 43 GRAMA 750'; 'NO. 44 GRAMA 654'; 'NO. 46 GRAMA 727'; 'NO. 47 GRAMA 704'; 'NO. 49 GRAMA 641'; 'NO. 50 GRAMA 687'; 'NO. 52 GRAMA 655'; 'NO. 53 GRAMA 659' AND 'NO. 56 GRAMA 690'

The arms are those of Savoia accolé with those of Hapsburg with Savoia-Carignano in pretence, for Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy, (1820-1878) and his first wife Maria Adelaide of Hapsburg, Queen of Sardinia, (1822-1855) who he married at Stupinigi in 1842. (12)
