A BRONZE PEAR-SHAPED VASE, HU
CHINA, SONG/MING DYNASTY, 11TH/14TH CENTURY

拍品專文

This vase belongs to a very specific group of archaistic bronze vases made from the 12th to the 14th century. The archaistic designs and shapes are very loosely based on those of ancient bronzes and are combined with decorative motifs seen on Song ceramics. The style of casting, in very low relief, is also peculiar to these vessels.
