The case carved profusely with neo-classical designs and motifs and dated 1783, the plinth carved with a monogram medallion, the brass dial with gilt foliate cast spandrels to an engraved pewter Roman and Arabic chapter ring, pewter subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture beneath, the arch with spandrels and pewter signature disc inscribed PCW/LONDON beneath a crown flanked by lions, eigth day four pillar two train movement with anchor escapement, strike on two bells; pendulum; door key; cranck key; two brass weights
