Lot Essay

This wall panel is typical of the Neo-classical style wall panellings favoured in Italy in the late 18th and early 19th century. Often having a white ground sparsely adorned with putti and Roman inspired designs, or armorial trophies. For examples of this type of wall panelling see E. Colle, Il Mobile Neoclassico in Italia, Milan, 2005, pp. 284-297.
