Born in 1926, Wynne was educated at Stowe School and Trinity College, Cambridge where he read Zoology. He served in the Royal Navy between 1945 and 1947. In 1949, without any formal training, he started sculpting with Georg Ehrlich and has subsequently secured many public commissions including Boy with a Dolphin on Cheyne Walk, Chelsea; Girl with a Dolphin at St. Katherine-by-the-Tower, Tower Bridge; Girl with Doves in Cadogan Square Gardens and Fred Perry outside Centre Court at The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon.
