Further details
This ring was presented on 1st July 1985 to H.R.H. The Princess of Wales on the occasion of her 24th birthday by the French jeweller Louis Gérard. The Princess was watching her husband playing polo at Windsor Great Park and is depicted in press photographs wearing the ring whilst presenting H.R.H. The Prince of Wales with a trophy. The ring was later donated by the Princess to an auction in aid of the charity Birthright, (now known as Wellbeing) of which she was Patron. The ring was subsequently purchased by The Daily Mail for £7,500 and offered as a prize in competition during the Autumn of 1985.
