A LARGE EARLY 19TH CENTURY INDIAN COLONIAL SILVER TABLE SNUFF BOX,
MARK OF PITTAR & CO., CALCUTTA, CIRCA 1835,
Oblong with bevelled sides, the cover engraved with a view of a fort on a hill overlooking the shore with ships at sea in the foreground, the raised border chased with scrolls & flowers, the rim of base at front inscribed "Pittar & Co., Old Court House St.t, Calcutta", 5 3/8 in. long x 4 in. wide x 1½ in. high ( 13.6 cm. x 10 cm. x 4 cm.), 17.5 oz.

Further details
