A PARCEL-GILT SILVER & NIELLO POUCH,
PROBABLY CAUCASIAN, 19TH CENTURY, BEARING SPURIOUS "18TH CENTURY MOSCOW" MARKS,
The front depicting Judith with the head of Holofernes in one hand & a spear in the other, flanked by eagles & military trophies, the pierced foliate surmount incorporating a male figure, sides with lozenges & flower-heads, the reverse inscribed in Cyrillic characters "General-Porutchik & Cavalier Alexander Vasiliyeva, son of Suvorov", ALSO a set of six 19th. century Russian silver-gilt & niello spoons, probably by M. Dmitriyev, Moscow, 1860, with knop terminals & scrollwork decoration to backs of bowls, cased, 13.75 oz. (7)
