A LATE 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT, CLOISONNE ENAMEL & PLIQUE-A-JOUR LEMON-TEA GLASS HOLDER,
MARK OF PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, "88" STANDARD, MOSCOW, 1888,
Cloisonné enamel loop handle & oval thumb-piece, cloisonné enamel borders with alternate turquoise & powder blue decoration with red & white bead borders, the plique-à-jour sides with figure-of-eight motifs enclosing flower-heads separated by flowers, beads, scrolls & crescent motifs in red, yellow, green, white & 2 shades of blue, Cyrillic inscription around base, 3 in. high (8 cm.).
