James Stephanoff was a watercolourist and book illustrator specialising in ceremonial scenes and interiors. His illustrations were included in W.H. Pyne's The History of the Royal Palaces and The History of the Coronation of George IV, edited by J. Whittaker and W.H. Pyne, the originals of which are now held in the Royal Collection.
