Compare with the three salvers in Gentle and Feild revised edition of Domestic Metalwork, 1994, P.293 figs 1-3.
A similar shell cast salver from the Robert Holland-Martin collection was sold as lot 660, 22nd June 1993 Sotheby's Billingshurst.
