A FRENCH BRONZE MORTAR
16TH CENTURY
The body cast with acanthus leaves and twin reeded handles
4in. (10cm.) high
Together with a miniature bronze skillet, late 17th Century; and a Continental bronze tripod pot, late 17th Century (3)
Provenance
A similar mortar was sold in the Robert Spalding Collection of Mortars, Christie's, South Kensington, 12 November 2003, lot 525.
