A Japanese ivory Tokyo School okimono of an old man and child, 19th Century
delicately carved with an elderly man seated on a tree stump wearing a fabric hat and woven sandals, a tobacco pouch and pipe case hanging from his waist, the small boy, in tied loose trousers, stands upon his knee pulling at the long beard to his chin causing the older figure to recoil backwards, his tied robes falling off his right shoulder, incised signature to base -- 9in. (22.8cm.) high.
