A Japanese ivory Tokyo school okimono signed Soun, 19th Century
of a woodsman seated on a wrapped bundle of branches, about to light his pipe as he takes a rest, his tobacco pouch in one hand, his clothing decorated in gold and silver lacquer with details in takamakie and kirigane, signed on a red lacquer reserve -- 5½in. (13.5cm.) high.
