A large Japanese bronze of an elephant with tigers, 19th Century
the larger animal with long ivory tusks, modelled rearing on its hind legs, its trunk thrown into the air as it struggles against two attacking tigers, the first clinging to its back, the other attacking the throat -- 17 3/8in. (44cm.) high.
