A Chinese bronze censer and cover, 16th/17th Century
of rectangular form with twin S-shaped handles, raised on four mythical beast-head supports, the shoulder decorated with a band of raised ruyi-heads rising to fretwork panels, lines of calligraphy incised to the body, the cover with a large Buddhistic lion, one foot supported by a brocade ball -- 14 7/8in. (37.6cm.) high.
