A Chinese blue and white beaker vase, gu, Kangxi (1662-1722)
with an ovoid middle section painted with insects amidst chrysanthemum and peony sprigs framed by zigzag cross-hatched bands, rising to the trumpet shaped mouth and supported on a splayed foot variously painted with figures in boats and scholars by the riverside beside pagodas in a mountainous river landscape -- 9in. (22.8cm.) high.
