A Chinese blanc-de-chine group of a 'Dutch family', circa 1705
modelled with a European couple each holding a cup seated on either side of a table laden with a fish in a bowl, the gentleman wearing a tricorn hat with his long hair flowing over a buttoned coat, the lady wearing a cowl and loose robes, the foreground with a jardiniere containing a coral branch beside a seated monkey, flanked by the couple's two children, a boy and a girl, similarly dressed to their parents -- 5 9/16in. (14.1cm.) high.

The India Office Records contain a record of two 'Dutch families' brought on the English East India Company ship the Union, sold in London on 13 March 1704 for 2s 7¼p, which were probably similarly modelled as this lot.
