A Chinese famille rose yellow-ground vase, 20th century
the body enamelled with two quatrelobed cartouches enclosing a bird perched on rockwork amidst bamboo and peony sprays, reserved on a yellow ground with scrolling lotus, above a petal panel border, the slanted shoulders with a ruyi-head and foliate collar enclosing floral scrolls, surmounted by the tall waisted neck decorated with sgraffiato yellow ground between ruyi-head and plantain borders flanked by two lingzhi fungus handles, the short splayed foot with a floral scroll, iron-red Qianlong seal mark -- 12 13/16in. (32.5cm.) high.
