Writing to a fellow poet ('Illustre Signora e Amica'), Manzoni expresses his great pleasure at reading her poem and is honoured that it has been dedicated to him. Offering his congratulations at the beauty of the poetess's rich and well-crafted work, Manzoni hopes that it will enourage people to read poetry, '... verità presentate in una forma sempre cosi felice; e a ogni tratto pellegrina, possano vincere in un bon numero di lettori la pvogliatezza dominante, e per la materia e per lo stromente.
