MONDRIAN, Piet (1872-1944). Autograph postcard signed ('P.M.', and 'Mondrian'), in Dutch, to Dr van Assendelft, 55 Ringdijk, Amsterdam, [postmarked 14 January 1915], one page, 8vo.
'PLEASE LEAVE THE TOOLS BEHIND SO I CAN FINISH THE WORK': Mondrian apologises to his friend, the Reverend H. van Assendelft, in Gouda, for having been unable to keep their meeting due to pressures of work; he hopes that they can meet in The Hague instead the following Tuesday, but, pressed for time, he asks that van Assendelft leave tools behind for him to use if unable to meet.
