GALLAS, Matthias, Count of Campo and Duke of Lucera (1584-1647, captain in the Catholic League). Autograph letter signed ('M. Gallas') to the Bürgermeister and council of the city of Minden, Verden, 16 April 1627, promising his service to the city, assuring them 'daß sie sich gentzlich Zuversicheren, da Ich in einger occasion ihnen und gemeiner Statt Minden ersprießlich Dienst und fürdernuß Zuerwissen vermugliche mithel und gelegenheit erlangen werde', one page, folio, integral address leaf, good impression of Gallas's signet ring on red wax (minor discolouration).
