4° (180 x 133mm). A6 B4 (lacking blank B4). Title with woodcut by Wolf Traut of the infant Christ on a cushion surrounded by the four evangelists, title verso with fine full-page cut of John of Patmos. (Title a little soiled and with repair to inner margin, upper margins cropped close, some lower margins waterstained, leather fore-edge marker-tab on last leaf.) Later wrappers (front wrapper detached). Provenance: 'Scrutamini scripturas per quas putatis vitam eternam obtinere. Joannis Sto. 1579' (slightly inaccurate quotation from the Gospel of St John, V, 39, inscription at end of text with flourished date) -- Collect. Bibl. pag. 1625 (title inscription, presumably a bibliographical reference) -- Baron Horace de Landau, Florence (1824-1903, bookplate with inkstamped number 2984) -- Albert Blum (1882-1952, inkstamps on wrapper and foot of title, cf.
