BOX: three-tier with brass drop-down handles and with ivory roundel to the front inscribed BARRAUD/2983, brass gimbal and bowl with spring-loaded winding cover, the latter also numbered 2983; box key
DIAL: silvered and engraved, signed BARRAUD/MAKER TO THE/ROYAL/NAVY/41 Cornhill/LONDON/NO./2983, with subsidiary seconds and 48-hour up/down rings, all hands of blued steel
MOVEMENT: plates lightly spotted, chain and fusee with maintaining power; tipsy key
ESCAPEMENT: Earnshaw-type with flat strip steel spring detent, cut bimetallic balance with segmental heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance spring
