A CONTINENTAL WHITE METAL STRIKING TABLE CLOCK
Probably German. 20th Century
In the German 18th Century style, with serpentine moulded edges, the sides with shaped glass panels, grotesque masks to the corners, hinged base inset with bell and on scroll feet, the square dial with foliate engraving, Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, the short duration movement with four ring turned baluster pillars, fusee and line with verge escapement for the going train with pierced and engraved balance cock depicting the Prussian double-headed eagle, barrel for the rack strike, trip repeat, bell hammer in the form of an eagle's head; with a travel box with glazed hinged top, the sides with circular pierced and engraved metal Prussian double-headed eagle; winding key
