Lot Essay

The Rotterdam landscape painter Dionijs Verburgh was a follower of Gerrit van Battem (c. 1636-1684). His panoramas, usually seen from a high viewpoint, always show a plethora of landscape elements. The present pictures are typical of his oeuvre.
