A CHINESE BLACK AND GILT-LACQUER SIX-LEAF SCREEN
Late 18th early 19th Century
The central field depicting a palatial scene with pagodas and figures, centered by a courtly ceremony, with various figures, amidst a seascape with islands, trees and bamboo trees, with further architectural buildings, within a large border depicting meandering dragons within scrolled ground, the reverse of each panel with large foliate and floral sprays issuing from rockwork, terminating on brass plain sabots
Each leaf: 74 in. (188 cm.) high; 22 in. (56 cm.) wide
