Both following lots of seat furniture, most probably of Piedmontese manufacture, are characterised by typical large scale decorative foliate and scrolled carved relief motif to the back and seat rails. This type of seat furniture was often painted in contrasting colours. Related models are illustrated in E. Quaglino, Il Piemonte, Milano, 1966, p. 174.

Each with rectangular back and seat upholstered 'à châssis' in raspberry and white striped satin silk, carved overall with husk-trails and rosettes, with foliate-wrapped arm-supports, on fluted tapering legs terminating in foliate-carved toupie feet, redecorated, with traces of original grey and white decoration
