A German gilt-metal and green-ground porcelain-mounted ebonized bonheur-du-jour

Decorated allover with porcelain plaques painted with courting couples, the upper section with breakfront top and three-quarter balustrade mounted to the two front corners with the figure of a Muse, above a central cupboard door mounted with a square plaque decorated with a couple playing 'blind man's bluff', the interior with a single shelf, over a single short drawer flanked to each side by a pair of floral-painted baluster columns and by four further drawers, the sides each with two further plaques, one decorated with a bird, the other with a flower, the lower section with shaped top inset with four plaques, over three frieze drawers, the sides with a further pair of plaques each decorated with a pair of songbirds perched on a branch, the angles each with a male term emerging from a scrolled volute, above four tapering fluted and floral-painted legs and trestle base mounted with four scantily-clad Muses and two putti emblematic of Winter
