Lot Essay

A meticulous record of important games between 1786 and 1849, attributed to J. Masters on the binding. The earliest matches include those between Kent and England at Windmill Downs, Hants on July 13, 1786, and between the White Conduit Club and England at Lord's on June 20, 1787. Many others involve England Elevens and frequently the Marylebone Club.
