Lot Essay

The "Cricket Song. For the Hambledon-Club, Hants, 1767" [by the Rev. Reynell Cotton] is included on pp. 131-33. This was first published in the Canterbury Journal, October, 1773, and had earlier appeared, with alterations in favour of Kent, in the Kentish Gazette of August 1772.
