In the 1904 Wisden, P.F. Warner is named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year. His portrait is illustrated and his biography states, "A more enthusiastic player it would be impossible to find anywhere. Cricket, if one may be permitted the expression, is the very breath of his nostrils".
