A MEISSEN SINGLE-HANDLED BEAKER
CIRCA 1725
Painted with gallants and companions on a quayside beside an elaborate monument surmounted with an urn of flowers and before a ship and distant hills, within a shaped quatrefoil gilt-line cartouche with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt, iron-red and purple foliage scrolls, the gilt scroll handle flanked by flowering chrysanthemum and peony, the interior of the rim with a band of gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk, gilt line rim (some wear to rim and handle, very slight flaking to enamels)

With Reichert, Munich, from whom it was acquired in July 1990.
