The bell-shaped cup with a moulded gilt wing handle, painted with a half-length portrait of Alexander I of Russia within a rectangular cartouche, the matt-gilt ground etched with Fame blowing a trumpet and a winged figure holding a crown, the interior rim with a gilt laurel wreath, the saucer with a six line verse in a rectangular cartouche, the gilt ground etched with Justice, a double-headed eagle, a cornucopia, a caduceus and martial trophies (minor scratch and a small flake to bottom left hand side of portrait and a minute scratch to the right of his head, some very minor wear and scratching to saucer and small flake to gilding on underside of rim)
