It would appear that a Steiff button has been removed from the Kingpin's ear, but there is no sign of any buttons in the other cat's ears.

A rare part set of Steiff cat skittles
comprising a white felt Kingpin in red felt tail coat and crown, yellow stitched detail and spangle decoration, black boot button eyes, pink stitched nose and mouth, on turned wooden base, early 1900s --8¼in. (20.5cm.) high; and seven similar grey felt cat skittles all with a dark pink ribbon and bell around neck --7½in. (19cm.) high (one cat with 1.5cm. hole to side of body, eleven other small moth holes, a few pin-prick holes, slight wear and some discolouration) (8)
