His many engravings provide an excellent record of contemporary fashions in interior design, including designs for carriages, clocks, paneling, beds, and embroidery. Trained by his father, he worked independently as an engraver by the age of sixteen, making engravings of designs by Jean Birain, Louis XIV's official designer. Christie's have offered 'A set of eight North European walnut high-back chairs' was sold in The Cotswold Collection sale on 13th March 2007 as lot 402.
