A Chinese cloisonne peacock censer and cover, 19th century
cast and enamelled in the form of a male peacock with his head held high and turned towards the back, its beak open revealing its tongue, with well defined crest and wattle, the long tail trailing behind, the opening in the back fitted with a cover formed by the back and wings, with clawed gilt feet -- 12 3/16in. (30.9cm.) high.
