A pair of Chinese bronze censers and covers, 18th/19th century
each cast after the archaic hu form, the corners applied with elephant handles above the flanges, surmounted by a pierced wan patterned domed cover with a Buddhistic lion finial with its leg raised over a brocade ball, decorated with a register of dragons breathing fire reserved on a leiwen ground between floral scroll bands, the neck with a border enclosing taotie masks reserved on a leiwen ground below the rim with a key-fret pattern -- max. 10½in. (26.7cm.) high. (2)
