A Chinese blanc-de-chine Buddhistic lion joss stick holder, 17th century
the male lion sitting on a rectangular plinth with a brocade ball under one paw and a ribbon in his open jaws revealing his menacing teeth, a tasseled collar around his neck and a joss stick holder at the back -- 10 7/8in. (27.6cm.) high.

Wallington Hall, Norfolk.
