Provenance
This was one of a pair of chimneypieces removed from the Adelphi London in the demolishment of the South Side of the Adelphi in 1936 and acquired by Crowthers of Syon Lodge. One of the pair was installed in the Italian cultural Institute at 39 Belgrave Square, London. The present chimneypiece was acquired at the 1969 Crowther sale.
