Ferrari - The 250 GT California Spyder
This fine scratchbuilt 1:10th scale example has the hand beaten to buck copper body, with silver solder glaze, primer and three layers of real car paint to finish.
The model comes with hand soldered spoked wheels around hand moulded solid rubber tyres and has a fully opening bonnet to show the detailed engine within. The cockpit includes two opening doors with a complete set of interior furniture, as well as real leather seats, a carpeted floor and aluminium work controls.
Of note are the solid hardwood and steel steering wheel, authentically chromed and with the Ferrari badge to the centre. All the chrome work has been professionally applied and there is a lot of fine detailing to include the four jack points with screw in caps, the pierce work side vents, the side windows just peeping out of the top of the doors, the glazed fascia dials with chrome frames and the authentic ashtray detailing and key.
The doors and bonnet fit extremely well and the car sits on a solid wood base with incised plaque and a hand written and signed certificate from Maurizio Conti, (approximately 16 inches long).
