AN ITALIAN HALBERD; AN ITALIAN CORSESCA; AND A LANCE STAVE
The first circa 1600; the second, the head 16th Century; the third 19th Century
The first with short central spike (an early replacement) and the cutting blade and fluke each with traces of punched and pricked decoration, open socket, and on a modern haft with a pair of straps; the second with tapering slender blade of flattened-diamond section reinforced at the point, the base with a pair of sharply up-turned pointed lugs and tubular socket: on a modern haft; the third with head of stiff-triangular section, tubular socket, and on a long painted wooden haft adapted for fitting a vamplate (missing).
