Two Japanese ivory okimono, Meiji (1868-1912)
the first, carved in the form of a man holding a bamboo rake beside a frog, wearing flowing robes with fruiting designs and a tall cap; and the second, carved as an old bearded man holding a lotus leaf in his right hand and a bottle in his left, wearing long flowing robes incised with floral patterns, both with inlaid incised signatures -- max. 7 13/16in. (19.8cm.) high. (2)
