A Chinese blue and white gu vase, Kangxi (1662-1722)
of square section with a projecting middle section painted with geese on a riverbank, between the tall splayed foot and flared neck with a lipped rim decorated with panels enclosing prunus amidst rockwork, a fisherman under a willow tree, a boy dancing before a figure and an old man by a bridge, all framed by trellis bands, with a zigzag cross-hatched pattern on the rim -- 10 7/16in. (26.5cm.) high; and a Japanese blue and white cylindrical vase, painted with floral sprays above a lappet border, 19th century. (2)
