A pair of Chinese famille rose 'Meissen' style cups and saucers, 19th century
each cup of a deep flaring quatrelobed form and each saucer similarly shaped with shallow rounded walls, enamelled after the Meissen style with panels enclosing a European lady and gentleman seated in a garden alternating with panels enclosing peacock feathers, all framed by gilt scrolls, underglaze-blue AR ('Augustus Rex') monogram marks -- cups 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) wide, saucers 5½in. (14cm.) wide. (2)
