of rounded octagonal form, the exterior decorated with a mounted dignitary and his valet, two ladies and an attendant, all standing before a rocky mountainous landscape, the well with a coiled dragon on a foliated ground roundel, with ruyi-head borders around the rim, gilt and copper-red Ju ren tang zhi ('Hall Where Benevolence Resides') mark -- 5 5/16in. (13.4cm.) diam.
