A pair of Cantonese famille rose vases, early 20th century
each applied with a pair of Buddhistic lion and cub handles, the shoulders with two pairs of high relief dragons, decorated with panels surmounted by bats enclosing dignitaries before a ruler, the reverse with a battle scene with equestrian and foot soldiers, all reserved on a fruiting and flowering ground including hydrangea, chrysanthemum, finger citron, peach, pomegranate and melon with landscape roundels and magpies, the neck similarly enamelled, with a lappet band above the foot -- 24½in. (62.2cm.) high. (2)
