Lot Essay

The Comité François Gall has confirmed the authenticity of this painting.

In the present painting Gall depicts his young daughter, Elizabeth-Anne, with either her mother Eugénie or her sister Marie-Lize at the famous café, La Coupole, in Montparnasse. Elizabeth-Anne utlimately died in a tragic accident at a very young age.
